SEASON 2

7 X 40 MINS | 2024 | PRODUCED FORNETFLIX

Emmy® Award-winning docu-reality series, Love on the Spectrum U.S., is an insightful and warm-hearted series following people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the world of dating and relationships.

Most people on the spectrum have the same desire for intimacy and companionship as the rest of the population, yet difficulties in social interaction and communication are a key feature of autism, which makes finding a partner an often daunting and difficult experience.

Far too many people on the autism spectrum want love and want to find someone special but haven’t had the opportunity. Many haven’t been on a date, ever.

Love on the Spectrum follows singles as they take their first steps into the world of dating. As well as help from their families, experts provide our love-seekers with practical skills to help them navigate what can be a confusing experience, giving them the confidence to begin their journey on the road to finding love. We also follow couples who have found their match.

This uplifting and insightful series celebrates diversity and difference, with participants who are warm, funny and generously open. It sets out to teach us all lessons of love, romance, intimacy and acceptance.

In its second season, this U.S. based series tells the stories of a unique and diverse cast of characters — including new romantic hopefuls and familiar faces — searching for something we all hope to find, love.

 Accolades

Marvellously, joyously human TV ★★★★★
— The Sydney Morning Herald
The show represents the autism spectrum in an authentic and honest way, choosing not to sugarcoat or objectify its participants.
— Ready Steady Cut
The good news here is that Northern Pictures, the same folks who produced the original series, didn’t mess with their winning formula. The stories are sweet, the cast is charming, and the tugs at your heartstrings are still in check with a sharp sense of humor. Even the Australian voice behind the camera remains the same, retaining a nice taste of the vocal comfort from the first series. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
— Primetimer
In spite of little nuances here and there, Love on the Spectrum U.S. and the original Love on the Spectrum are basically indistinguishable in terms of production, and the chief strength of both series remains their embrace of earnestness. Unlike so many dating shows, which focus more on petty drama and cheap gimmickry than actual emotional connection, Love on the Spectrum U.S. goes all-in on vulnerability.
— The Daily Beast
Netflix’s ‘Love on the Spectrum’ is a real, honest depiction of autism – and as the parent of a son with autism, it shows me a bright future ahead.
— Clayton Davis, Variety
The Authenticity of ‘Love on the Spectrum’ Is the Driving Force of the Series
— The Mary Sue
Love on the Spectrum finds that balance between showing the struggle without creating an ounce of negativity in the tone of the show itself. It’s a force for good, for education, empathy, and optimism.
